Frequently Asked Questions

What is Spinal Muscular Atrophy?

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disorder that affects the motor neurons—nerve cells in the spinal cord that control muscle movement. It leads to progressive muscle weakness and atrophy (wasting).

How can THE SEA help individuals with SMA?

At THE SEA, our mission is to raise awareness for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and to celebrate the incredible strength found in every story lived with it. Born from our own journey, this space is a heartfelt platform where we share real, honest, and inspiring experiences—both our own and those of caregivers, families, and individuals across the globe.

We believe in highlighting the Strength, Magnificence, and Attitude that shine through even the most difficult moments. SMA may be part of our lives, but it doesn’t define who we are—it reveals the power of community, resilience, and love.

Whether you're here to learn, connect, or share your own story, we welcome you with open arms to the Sea of Strengthwhere courage flows, voices rise, and every journey matters.

How can I get involved with Sea of Strength?

You can get involved with Sea of Strength by sharing your journey which is simply an email away.
